We’d like to hear your thoughts to help shape the emerging plans and ensure the regeneration of this site delivers real benefits for the Romford community.

Where?

Romford Gasworks is a ten acre site close to the town centre and railway station that has been underutilised for many years.

Why?

Since the decommissioning and demolition of the former Gas Holders, the site has remained underutilised with limited public benefit. As a former industrial site, within an area with many different businesses and infrastructure, it presents a clear opportunity to bring space for businesses and jobs locally.

Bringing forward an industrial-led development would support local regeneration priorities including the creation of new jobs and making more efficient use of brownfield land in line with local and national planning policy, which encourages the redevelopment of underused industrial land to boost economic activity and provide modern employment space.
